Six Porsche 911s in Wales

It’s rare for me to get out of the office these days, so a trip to the Brecon Beacons to meet up with a bunch of 911 owners was a long but fun day.

We gathered together a mouthwatering selection of 911s from different generations, from 1974 to 2010. And, in between the serious business of taking photographs and making notes, we had a lot of fun.

It never ceases to amaze me what friendly people Porsche enthusiasts are, and today’s bunch were no exception. The conversation was varied, from driving around the M25 in 72 minutes, to avoiding the police by using night-vision goggles. Then there was the 74-year-old biker with a 28-year-old girlfriend…

Highlight of the day, though, was the Welsh farmer who stuck his head through my car’s (open!) window and said he’d “smash my f&*king face in”.

Look out for the full story in Total 911 issue 68.
