Watch Jörg Bergmeister blitz Kylami in the new 991 GT3 RS
No voiceover, no music, just pure onboard footage. As official videos from Porsche go, this is our kind of film. Last week, Porsche launched the new 991.2 Turbo and Carrera 4S at Kylami in South Africa but it also decided to bring along the current 911 GT3 RS for a play too.
It also invited factory driver, Jörg Bergmeister – a winner at Daytona, Sebring and Le Mans – who took the latest Rennsport for a blast around the recently reopened track, once home to the South African Grand Prix during the Seventies, Eighties and Nineties.
Bergmeister, a stalwart of Porsche Motorsport’s line-up, certainly isn’t hanging about and, in true racing driver style, we can spot that PSM is well and truly set to ‘Off’.
It’s a particularly apt video too as the latest issue of Total 911 not only features the new 991 GT3 RS (up against its 997 Rennsport rivals) but also a guest column from none other than Bergmeister himself as the German ace looks ahead to his busiest season of racing yet.
