Video: The new Porsche 911 Carrera’s turbocharged engine
Porsche’s full electric Mission E concept car may have stolen many headlines during the opening days of the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt but, it shouldn’t be forgotten that the bi-annual motor show also played host to the unveiling of the new 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera, complete with a turbocharged flat six.
While the controversial switch away from natural aspiration hasn’t got us worried, we know some of you are less convinced by a forced induction future for the Porsche 911.
Therefore, this video from Porsche is definitely recommended viewing. Yes, there’s some silly music, but there are fleeting moments of raw engine sound and some interesting facts that hopefully will help convince you this is truly the way forward (pardon the pun).
