Luftgekühlt 3 venue announced ahead of this weekend

This weekend will see the third running of Luftgekühlt, the alternative Porsche gathering celebrating Zuffenhausen’s air-cooled history in a typically laidback, West Coast fashion.

Organised by Howie Idelson and Porsche factory racing ace, Patrick Long, the previous two events have quickly established Luftgekühlt’s cult reputation not just in Los Angeles but around the world.

Like Luft 1 and 2, much of the hype in the build up to Luftgekühlt 3 has been word of mouth via social media, with specific details (such as a time and a venue) few a far between. However, that has now changed.

Scheduled for this weekend, Luftgekühlt 3 will once again return to Los Angeles on Sunday 10 April at Modernica, the renowned modern furniture designer and manufacturer, located in Vernon, a few miles south of central LA. The gathering will kick off at 9am with a flat $10 admission fee for adults (children go free).

Like the previous events, there will be a delectable selection of air-cooled Porsches on show, not just from renowned collectors but also more humble, single-car owners, all with their own uniques stories to tell. There will also be a charity auction, run by RM Sotheby’s, where a unique Safari-style 911 will go under the hammer in aid of the Autumn Leaves Foundation.

On top of the cars, food and live music will be on offer throughout the day (as well as a number of pop up stalls and other surprises) to provide a family friendly atmosphere.
