Total 911 issue 128 now on sale

The new issue of Total 911 hits newsstands today and there’s a distinctly Rennsport flavour to our 128th magazine, which is headed by our first drive of the new Porsche 991 GT3 RS.

Porsche’s latest Rennsport 911 appears to have dramatically moved the goalposts, utilising more technology than ever before (including much improved aerodynamics) to create a car that has comprehensively stolen the 997 GT3 RS 4.0’s crown.

In issue 128, we got to grips with the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS on both road and track to find out how the new 4.0-litre DFI engine, 21-inch rear wheels and PDK gearbox help to significantly improve the RS breed.

Porsche 997.2 GT3 RS vs Porsche 964 Carrera RS

Elsewhere, we also pit the Porsche 997.2 GT3 RS against the 964 Carrera RS in a battle of the £170,000 Rennsport heroes. One air-cooled, one water-cooled, each RS represents the ultimate driving experience for their respective generations, making them a tantalising prospect for a head-to-head showdown.

And, for motorsport fans, we get up close and personal with a priceless turbocharged Le Mans icon inspired by Porsche’s 1000hp Can-Am monsters. The 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo 2.1 is a sight not to be missed.
