Rennsport Reunion to return in October 2015

The next Porsche Rennsport Reunion will take place on 9-11 October 2015 at Laguna Seca Raceway, Porsche Cars North America has announced. The fifth instalment of the world famous motorsport event follows the hugely successful Rennsport Reunion IV (also held at Laguna Seca) back in 2011.

The incomparable celebration of Weissach’s racing heritage takes place roughly once every free years, with the first event taking place at Lime Rock Park in 2001. Since then, the world-famous event has grown in stature, become a must-see event for Porsche enthusiasts.

In 2011, when the event moved to America’s West Coast, Rennsport Reunion tapped into a wealth of local Porsche enthusiasts and aficionados, elevating the status of this incredible event. Californian fans will once again be pleased to know that Mazda Raceway Laguan Seca has once again agreed to host the event in October 2015.

“After that truly rare gathering of significant Porsche race cars in 2011, we can expect an even larger number of fans to attend next year,” predicted Gill Campbell, CEO and general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Detlev von Platen, President of Porsche Cars North America agrees that the West Coast has helped elevate the status of the Rennsport Reunion: “Approximately 40,000 spectators for the weekend, and a record number of race cars and participants, proved that our decision to come here [in 2011] was correct.”

Rennsport Reunion IV saw over 1,300 Porsche Club of America member-owned cars fill a plethora of show fields and show classes and with 2015 marking 60 years of the PCA, the club is sure to help in putting on the most spectacular reunion yet.

The fifth Rennsport Reunion will showcase a wide variety of motorsport heroes, from the 550 Spyder of the mid-Fifties, to the latest Porsche 919 Hybrid. It’s sure to be an unmissable extravaganza for any Porsche racing enthusiast.

We will bring you more news on exhibitions, cars and drivers to expect at Rennsport Reunion V as we get it. For now, you can find ticketing information on Laguna Seca’s website.
