Porsche 991 R complete spy shot gallery

Earlier today we brought you exclusive first photos of the Porsche 911 R test mule, spotted being put through its paces yesterday. We’ve now got more shots of the much-anticipated new neunelfer, giving you a full walk-around the GT3-engined car.

As you can see, this prototype looks like a barely modified 991 GT3, suggesting that Porsche is still in the early stages of on-road development. The car is still running first generation 991 lights front and rear, while the wheels and tyres look straight off the GT3 (rather than the narrower rubber rumoured for the ‘R’).

At the back, the rear wing has been removed and the decklid replaced with the unit from the current 991 Carrera GTS while there also appears to be a small ‘aesthetic’ diffuser at the bottom of the rear bumper.

Complete with the 475hp 9A1 flat six from the current 911 GT3 (coupled to a manual gearbox), the Porsche 991 R is expected to be released in time for the Geneva Motor Show in March next year.

What do you think of the Porsche 991 R? Do you like the flat back aesthetic? Join the debate in the comments below or head to our Facebook and Twitter pages now.
