Gallery: Porsche 991 GT3 R on the spectacular streets of Macau

The Nürburgring Nordschelife is probably the most challenging purpose-built circuit in the world. However, when you take racing cars out of their natural environment and onto the streets of the real world, things can get even more spectacular.

This weekend, the Manthey Racing is competing in the annual FIA GT World Cup with a pair of factory Porsche 911 GT3 Rs. The venue for this season-closing race is the phenomenal Macau Guia circuit.

Winding its way through the streets of the Macau Peninsula (found across the Zhujiang River Estuary from Hong Kong), the 3.8-mile track is one of the most demanding street circuits in the world.

It’s a unique challenge in the world of international GT racing and it makes for some spectacular photos, as this gallery of shots from practice and qualifying attests:
