Nick Tandy joins 2015 Total 911 Awards guest list

There aren’t many events where you get to rub shoulders with an actual 24 Hours of Le Mans winner. However, the inaugural Total 911 Awards will be one such shindig with Nick Tandy confirmed on the guest list for next Thursday’s ceremony at Hexagon Modern Classics.

That’s right, the same Nick Tandy that helped Porsche take its historic 17th overall victory at Le Mans this year driving the 919 Hybrid LMP1 racer alongside fellow factory driver, Earl Bamber and F1 star, Nico Hülkenberg.

Tandy, who writes a regular column for Total 911, will attend the ceremony where he is on the shortlist for two awards: ‘Best 911 motorsport team/individual’ and the coveted ‘Porsche Personality of the Year’.

The British race ace’s successes on both sides of the Atlantic have seen his stock rise dramatically this year and Total 911’s readers have most definitely noticed his exploits behind the wheel of the 911 RSR and 919 Hybrid.

As well as hoping to pick up some more silverware to add to his already-expansive 2015 collection, Nick will also participate in a Q&A session on the evening so we can learn a little more about the life of a Porsche works driver (and one of their latest Le Mans legends).

He will be joined at the evening by the Urban Outlaw, Magnus Walker who will share his own experiences from the world of Porsche 911 modifying and personalisation on the West Coast of America.

If you can’t make the Total 911 Awards next Thursday, make sure you head to JZM Porsche at 7pm on Wednesday 21 October to meet Magnus Walker at our first Porsche meeting.
