Competition: Win a place in the Porsche cavalcade at Le Mans

As soon as the chequered flag falls in the WEC at Spa this weekend, all focus will immediately turn towards the showpiece next round in the form of the 24 hours of Le Mans, the pinnacle of the motor racing calendar.

The decorated enduro ensures a festival of motorsport arrives in the north-west of France throughout the week of the race, with a host of events taking place for petrolheads to ensure the journey makes for an occasion to remember.

The Classic British Welcome car festival has formed a key part of these events for the past 14 years and has rapidly become one of the highlights of the Le Mans week. Today, it is a meeting point for some 8,000 visitors and around 1,000 classic and sports cars from all over Europe and continues to introduce new attractions each year.

The town of Saint Saturnin, the home of the Classic British Welcome, is a very active village on the main approaches to Le Mans, situated 8 miles north of the Le Mans 24 hour Circuit and less than 10 minutes from the city centre.

All eyes will be on the 919 at Le Mans this year, and you can be a part of the Weissach celebrations by winning a place in the Porsche cavalcade before the race.

Held on the Friday before the big race, this year the theme of the festival is Porsche, with Jurgen Barth confirmed as the VIP guest among a throng of notable race-bred cars of the past on display including a Le Mans winning Porsche 917. Entry to the event is free and all Porsche owners will be able to park their car in a designated Porsche area for others to admire.

However, one of the highlights of the event is the departure at 16h00 of 12 cars representing the Porsche theme to take part in the ‘Grand Parade des Pilotes’ in the centre of Le Mans, and Total 911 is offering one lucky winner a spot in this prestigious cavalcade.

To be in with a chance of winning a place for your Porsche in the parade, simply answer the following question:

Who is the VIP Porsche guest for the 2014 Classic British Welcome?

Email your answer to [email protected] with ‘Le Mans’ in the subject line by Tuesday 6th May. We’ll also need your full name and exact model of Porsche to qualify.

More information on the event can be found via www.classicbw.org. Good luck!
