After being initially approached by a company at SEMA, the largest Auto Trade Show in the world, selling new style lightweight batteries while searching for new technology, interest was aroused. How it works?
The EVO2 battery uses custom-designed lithium ferrous phosphate (LiFePO4) cells. The chemistry, originally discovered by a research group at the University of Texas, was subsequently developed for the storage and management of wind generated power. With its relatively low-cost, non-toxic formulation, excellent thermal stability, safety characteristics, good electrochemical performance and high specific capacity, it can deliver an enormous amount of power in a very short time, and then recover very quickly.
