Watch LMP1 racer, Brendon Hartley give the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS a proper workout

What better way to test one of Weissach’s finest creations than with one of their latest young hot shots? Designed for outstanding performance on the track, Porsche handed their new 991 GT3 RS over to LMP1 racer, Brendon Hartley for a blast around the Nardo test track in Italy.

Hartley, signed to Porsche’s 919 LMP1 team, scored three FIA World Endurance Championship podiums in 2014 and will again team up with Mark Webber and Timo Bernhard this year for a tilt at Le Mans glory and the world title.

He is, therefore, no slouch behind the wheel, as this latest video from Porsche shows. There’s plenty of footage of the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS sliding around, both from behind the wheel and trackside, giving us our best impression of the new Rennsport yet.

The lack of music also means we get to hear plenty from that new 4.0-litre flat six, and Hartley for all his talents behind the wheel doesn’t make a bad presenter either. Definitely worth six minutes and 38 seconds of your time. Enjoy.
