Video: Porsche 964 Carrera RS vs Carrera 4 Lightweight
For many, the 964 generation of Porsche 911 is as close to perfect as Zuffenhausen has ever got – old enough to retain a clear link to the neunelfer’s past but with a more refined driving experience than the early air-cooled cars.
The Porsche 964 also saw two very special 911 iterations during its reign: the 964 Carrera RS and ultra-rare 964 Carrera 4 Leichtbau, the latter a car that even some staunch Porsche enthusiasts know little about.
In Total 911 issue 131, we were lucky enough to head out on track in these two legendary lightweights for a scintillating battle alongside none other than Jürgen Barth, Le Mans winner and the man behind the Carrera 4 Lightweight programme.
