Video: Mark Webber and the Porsche 911 GT1-98 at Goodwood
As well as our own Goodwood Festival of Speed experience, there was (as ever) plenty of awesome machinery blasting up Lord March’s driveway, especially as far as Porsche was concerned. 911s, 917s, 935s, and 956s were all well represented.
One of the stars of the show was this, the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning Porsche 911 GT1-98, the ultimate Porsche 911 (if you ignore the fact it is actually a carbon fibre monocoque and mid-engined).
To drive this legend of La Sarthe, Porsche turned to current works driver (and ex-Red Bull F1 star) Mark Webber, who raced against this car during his tenure at Mercedes in the 1998 FIA Sportscar Championship. Enjoy.
