Total 911 issue 121 on sale now

As we announced last month, Porsche is bolstering the current 991 line-up with a new Porsche 991 Carrera GTS range. Last issue we took an initial look at this successor to the much-lauded 997 GTS but now, in issue 121, we’ve got behind the wheel of this new ultimate Carrera for the first time.

Shunning Zuffenhausen’s tradition for making the 991 range toppers PDK-only, the Porsche 991 Carrera GTS is offered with a manual gearbox, as well as the option of the slick-shifting double clutch transmission.

While the extension of the GTS sub-brand to both Coupe and Cabriolet body styles reduces the performance credentials of these famous letters, the fact that a manual GTS Coupe with rear-wheel drive still exists shows that Zuffenhausen still caters for driving enthusiasts.

Therefore, it should come as no surprise that we made a beeline for this rawest 991 Carrera GTS flavour during the first test drive in sunny California. How did we find it? You’ll have to pick up a copy of Total 911 issue 121 to find out.

Also inside, you’ll find our ultimate guide to the most decorated Rennsport, the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS, we get behind the wheel of both the Porsche 993 GT2 Clubsport and GT2 Evo, and we celebrate the humble impact bumper generation.

To read all of this and much, much more, pick up issue 121 of Total 911 in stores today. You can also order your copy online for home delivery, or download it straight to your digital device and save up to 30%.
