Total 911 issue 109 on sale now

The Porsche 911 Turbo has always been designed as Zuffenhausen’s do-it-all 911. Capable of formidable performance, the forced-induction sports car is also capable of handling the rigours of everyday driving.

In issue 109 of Total 911 we put the 991 Turbo through its paces in the ultimate road test, with 2000 miles of driving in just seven days – including a trip through the centre of Paris.

We also kickstart Prodrive’s 30th anniversary year by getting behind the wheel of their championship-winning 1984 Porsche 911 SC RS. The rally legends may be better known for their Subaru Imprezas, but this Rothmans-liveried icon is the car that started it all for David Richards’ team.

To get a better understanding of Prodrive’s origins, we also sit down with Richards for a chat about the unrealised 959 rally project, forming an international rally team, and the current state of the World Rally Championship.

If that wasn’t enough, there is a behind the scenes look at California 911 artisans, Singer Vehicle Design. Their Porsche 911 reimaginings have redefined what it means to create a 911 hotrod.

Also inside, there is a history of Turbo-look 911s, a track test of three very different 911s, and a road test of the Porsche 993 Carrera 4S, possibly the ultimate widebody offering from Stuttgart.
