Test drives successfully concluded for 991 RSR

Porsche AG Team Manthey’s new 991 RSR has warmed up for its official debut at the WEC at Silverstone in April by completing successful test runs at the Sebring International Raceway in Florida yesterday.

Sharing driving duties at Sebring were Porsche works drivers Patrick Pilet and Richard Lietz, who will be competing in the WEC with the RSR (starting numbers 91 and 92 respectively).

Porsche’s Head of Motorsport Hartmut Kristen says testing has gone well so far: “Our goal is to be well prepared for the challenges of the very strong GTE class in the WEC and at Le Mans. The circuit in Sebring is very well suited to put a new vehicle through some demanding trials. For this reason, a test in Sebring is a very good rehearsal for one of the toughest races of all, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.”

Further tests and tweaks are due to be made to the car before the curtain raiser for the World Endurance Championship season at Silverstone on 14th April.
