Porsche 991 Carrera GTS spy shots

Back in March, Total 911 brought you the first shots of what appeared to be a 991 Carrera GTS test mule (then in Cabriolet form). At the time the car was being put through its paces on the snowy roads of Northern Germany.

Now though, a Coupe version has been spied thrashing around the Nürburgring Nordschleife, suggesting that Porsche is currently putting the GTS version of the latest 911 through a series of tests designed to optimise the chassis setup.

Compared to the standard 991 Carrera and Carrera S, the new GTS’s standout feature is its GT3-esque dual central exhaust pipes. The car is expected to get a power hike over the Carrera S, as per the 997 version.

It is not known yet whether the GTS is to be released as a final model for the 991 Gen1, or whether it is set to launch the second generation range (due out next year) however, the camouflage tape around the rear lights and front bumper suggest the car will be unveiled in facelifted form.
