Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS replicas to Brooklands auction

Porsche 911 2.7 RS replica yellow

A brace of Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RSs will be up for sale at the end of August thanks to specialist classic car auctioneer, Historics at Brooklands. The sale, to be held at the Brooklands Museum in Surrey, UK, will take place on 31st August, with viewing for potential buyers from 10am the preceding day.

Three RS recreations will be available at the auction; two converted by 911 Rennsport, the third by Rennspeed.

The Rennspeed offering comes in Martini livery, whilst the yellow replica from 911 Rennsport is the most faithful, including the left-hand-side-exiting exhaust. Both cars use the 3.2 engine from the 1984-85 911 Carrera.

Original ‘rennsport’ cars have recently been commanding six figure sums, with the best cars selling for upwards of £250,000 ($390,000). This has led to an increase in popularity for recreations of Stuttgart’s iconic 911.

You can read more about RS replicas in issue 105 of Total 911, out on sale on 11 September.
