With Christmas fast approaching, the inevitable rush for gift ideas has begun. This new R/C kit from Tamiya will undoubtedly give the Porsche enthusiast in your life hours of fun.

This accurate 1:10-scale, radio-controlled Porsche 911 Carrera RSR is possibly the ultimate Porsche R/C car. Modelled after the 1973 Targa Florio-winning 911, the kit can be painted in the iconic Martin livery using the included decals.

The polycarbonate bodyshell captures the essence of the factory RSR perfectly, with the widened rear arches housing the Fuchs-inspired wheels. The legendary ducktail spoiler has been moulded into the body too.

The flared rear arches and ducktail spoiler scream RSR.

Based on Tamiya’s TT-02 chassis, the car features four-wheel drive, applying its power to the road through slick rubber tyres. Ride height and wheelbase is adjustable, allowing R/C experts to tune the car to their liking.

The car is available as a kit (needing assembly) for £130, or as part of a complete R/C package (including radio control unit, gears, battery, and charger) for £225.

With 2013 marking the 40th anniversary of the real Porsche 911 RSR’s victory at the Targa Florio, there is no better time to celebrate that remarkable win. For more information head to Tamiya’s website.
