When looking for my 996 C4 Cabriolet i looked at 996's that were around £15k and all were high mileage ones which werent that well looked after. The one i bought was advertised for £18, 750 and i got it for less, with 58k on the clock and its immaculate. Spent nothing on it in th 2 months i've had it. Engine behaving as it should. Spent £700 so far on front stone chips, poor rear quarter repair and split rim polish. Now virtually mint, only niggles like broken pass seat recliner, alloy hub scabs and PSM button loose. However your 996 engine failure article has me doubly worried over little things like overheating type smell and rough idle running!
