Porsche 911 barn finds sell at auction

Barn find Porsches 2

Over 90 percent of the Porsche 911s, 912s, and 356s, offered for sale by Anglia Car Auctions were snapped up by buyers over the Bank Holiday weekend, contributing to a record £1.2 million sale by the auction house.

The private American collection, announced for sale a fortnight ago, had garnered international interest, helping many of the cars to exceed their estimates.

From the initial batch, the left-hand drive 1969 Porsche 911T earmarked by Total 911 as a star of the sale, achieved £27,300, over £2000 above its valuation. With just 59,000 miles on the clock, the matching numbers car makes a sound investment, as Porsche 911s from the 1960s continue to surge in popularity.

Barn Find Porsche 356

While some of the 356s up for auction did not sell, all of the initial Porsche 911s found new homes.

Buyers will now have to wait until the New Year until more cars from the collection will hit the auction house floor.
