While the PDK automatic transmission has been universally praised, its original steering wheel mounted thumb shifters were just as universally criticised. Their operation was counter-intuiative and quite different to the shifters found on other sports cars.
Porsche listened to the complaints and now offers more conventional paddleshifters as an option for the Turbo (and other models soon). These paddleshifters are now available for retrofitting to existing PDK-equipped Porsches at a price of €940.10 (about £800), and that price includes a new steering wheel.
