As well as the obligatory track test (in the current Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car) the four candidates were put through their paces in a variety of areas on the evaluation day at Silverstone’s Porsche Experience Centre on 21 October.

In the afternoon, all the drivers’ fitness was pushed to the limit at the Porsche Human Performance Centre, where both their strength and endurance was tested.

This facility has seen visits in the past from Mark Webber, current Red Bull F1 driver and future Porsche LMP1 pilot, highlighting the facility’s strenuous programme.

There was also a panel interview, including current British Porsche 911 stars, Nick Tandy and Michael Meadows, and a mock media exercise where the candidates were grilled by ITV British Touring Car Championship presenter, Louise Goodman.
