Macau is famous for its casinos, just like Monaco. It is also situated on a southern coast. However, that is where the similarities end. While the home of the star-studded Grand Prix enjoys the very best in Mediterranean weather, Macau sits opposite Hong Kong.

Of more interest than the gambling and geography though, is the Macau Guia street circuit. Made up of 6.2 kilometres of unrelenting tarmac, this is arguably one of the toughest tracks in the world.

A mixture of high-speed, open sweeps (such as Mandarin Bend) and tighter, narrower sections (such as that leading up Moorish Hill), the track is a true challenge of car and driver, and often catches out the unwary.

As part of a fortnight of motorsport, culminating in the famous Formula 3 Grand Prix of Macau, the circuit hosted a Porsche Carrera Cup Asia invitational race on 9-10 November.

Won by Supercup-bound Earl Bamber, the event also saw Sébastian Loeb, the nine-times World Rally Champion, return to the cockpit of a Porsche 911 for the first time since the Monaco Grand Prix-supporting Supercup race.

The Frenchman finished second, just four seconds adrift of Bamber, while Martin Ragginger finished third. Below, Total 911 brings you a selection of the best images.
