Is this the new Porsche 911 GTS?

Second-generation Porsche 991s are not uncommon. For the last few months test cars from Stuttgart have been spotted being put through their paces in both Germany and Sweden.

However, these latest spy shots are more intriguing. They show a 991 Cabriolet test mule, with obligatory taped rear lights, but also twin centre exhaust tailpipes, not dissimilar to those found on the 991 GT3.

Another intriguing feature is a ‘curtain-type’ system on the front bumper air vents which can be opened or closed to alter cooling, as well as improving fuel economy.

While it could be a prototype 991 Speedster, the spy shots show a car with standard Carrera windscreen, and the 991 Cabriolet’s normal soft-top. Therefore, a GTS seems more likely. Take a look through our gallery and send us your thoughts through TwitterFacebook, or by commenting below:
