Exclusive: More 991 Targa facelift shots revealed

Here at Total 911 we like to bring you the latest spy shots of prototype 911 variants in testing from our sources at the Nürburgring. Our latest offering showcases some exclusive shots of the facelifted Targa out on the Nordschleife – and with a crucial new development to boot, too.

At the rear of the Targa you’ll notice two centrally-mounted exhaust pipes. This configuration has been used on other current test mules which are believed to be running turbocharged flat six engines, and this setup now appearing on Targa test variants will spark further rumours as to Porsche’s move away from naturally aspirated 911s for the entire Carrera body range from 2015.

The Targa prototype here has other more recognisable new features in line with the planned facelift for next year, including a new decklid grille, new bumpers with active air ducts, as well as new lights and door handles. Check out the next-gen Targa in detail from our gallery below.
