Daniel Cammish joins 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup GB grid

After a star turn in the Porsche GB guest car at last year’s Brands Hatch finale, Daniel Cammish has confimed he will graduate to a full-time Porsche Carrera Cup GB drive in 2015 with the championship-winning Redline Racing team.

Cammish took pole position and won the first race on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit last October during his Carrera Cup GB debut. The 25-year-old was leading race two when he pitted to change tyres in changeable conditions, dropping him to fifth but giving him the fastest lap.

The 2013 British Formula Ford champion (driving for Nick Tandy’s JTR team), Cammish will race for Redline Racing, the squad that took Total 911 columnist, Josh Webster to the 2014 Carrera Cup GB championship in the latter’s debut year.

With the help of two-time Carrera Cup GB champion, Tim Harvey, Cammish has secured backing from Nationwide Accident Repair Services for his 2015 tilt at the Porsche Carrera Cup GB title.

“I felt that Daniel was the most deserving and talented driver without a drive, so it was good to put the two parties together,” explained Harvey, a Nationwide’s brand ambassador. “Nationwide has had a lot of success in the Carrera Cup and so Daniel has a lot to live up to, but I rate him very, very highly.”

“I want to hit the ground running and chase the title,” said Cammish, who will get his first competitive action behind the wheel of a Porsche 991 GT3 Cup car at Brands Hatch on 4-5 April. “I’m with a team with a great pedigree and I want to repay the faith that Nationwide has put in me.”
